The multiplayer side of Battlefield 3 from Electronic Arts and EA DICE lets players choose from one of 4 different classes, called kits. Each kit has varied abilities and load-outs. In order to enhance the battlefield prowess of each kit, unlockables are given to players that invest game time in the class, gaining the requisite amount of XP (known as AS (Assault Score), ES (Engineer Score), SC (Support Score), and RS (Recon Score) along the way.

Finally, gamers can also hook up with a buddy and make their way through the co-op side of Battlefield 3. Like competitive multiplayer, players will unlock special load-outs that make their duo more powerful through the accumulation of CS (Co-Op Score)
