Giant swords, giant guns, giant monsters, giant hair - God Eater's got it all.
The world of God Eater is beset on all sides by monsters that are (it's hard to say) possibly sent by God, gods themselves, or sent by some monster with god-like powers. In any case, they are wreaking havoc, destroying property, eating people, and generally inconveniencing the populace. Who will save the day? God Eaters, that's who. What's a God Eater? Fair question.
A God Eater is the classic Japanese anime hero: giant shiny eyes, big hair, huge weapon, tiny androgynous body. These heroes are the only hope of their world to defeat these baddies and, as the title of the game implies, devour them for fun and profit. Once one of the monsters is defeated, a God Eater can use their morphing weapon to “eat” them and up their supplies, stats, and abilities. The baddies themselves range in size from small livestock to apartment building and resemble in appearance anything ranging from lions, tigers, and bears to scorpions, spiders, and crustaceans. A diverse diet for the God Eaters, to be sure.

- Giant monster battles with friends could be a lot of fun -
The game boasts 100 missions with stories and voice actors which can be played in single-player mode and fought cooperatively with up to three other players. Through the PSP's ad-hoc multiplayer function, any passer-by with a PSP can become your brother or sister-in-arms. The gameplay is pretty straightforward boss fighting, with lunges, jumping attacks, and a whole lot of charges to sidestep. Gameplay videos make the battles look a little repetitive, but the ad-hoc multiplayer function could make for unique means of taking down enemies and more diverse battle outcomes.
The weapons carried by the God Eaters are, like themselves, classic anime: swords and guns that are at least as long and wide as the lithe, spindly lady-boys that wield them. Need a gun? No problem, your surfboard-sized sword morphs handily into a gun big enough to give a Blackhawk helicopter serious lift issues. After the various monsters are defeated, you can dine in style as your weapon morphs into a bio-mechanical mouth with which to gather sustenance from your fallen foe. The morphing weapons will be customizable, using special materials found in the game. Additionally, players will be able to create their own, unique characters with customizable faces, hairstyles, hair color, clothing and voices.

- Yes ladies, size does matter -
So if you like classic anime-style action, customizable characters and weapons, and don't need it to make a lot of internal sense, you'll eat God Eater right up.
