Nintendo Stock Price at a Two-Year Low

NEWS | ? Comments |

Author: GD Staff

GamesIndustry.biz reports today that Nintendo stock prices in America are at a two-year low. According to the website, the Nintendo stock price closed at $30.10 on Friday, down from $38.29 just prior to the launch of the new Nintendo 3DS handheld system.

Sales of the new system have been significantly less than the publisher had originally predicted, with the Sony PSP beating out Nintendo 3DS in sales in Japan last week.

GamesIndustry.biz says the sales trend of the 3DS does not appear to be linked to the recent earthquakes in Japan, since no Nintendo factories were affected. However, the report does not account for the overall effects to the Japanese economy and the sluggishness of markets worldwide.
