Gamescom 2011: Valve announces first free Portal 2 DLC pack

Valve's Doug Lombardi told Kotaku at Gamescom 2011 that the first free DLC add-on for Portal 2 will launch mid-September.

Back at the end of April, Valve originally confirmed the free add-on packs for all platforms, letting players know that summer was the launch target for the extra content. Of course, the season doesn't end until September 21, so that's "technically still summer" according to Mr. Lombardi.
