Square Enix and DeNA partner up to make Final Fantasy social

Earlier today, social games publisher DeNA (one of the leading mobile gaming firms in Japan) announced plans to develop a social game based on Square Enix’s legendary Final Fantasy franchise. While this isn’t technically the only social game Square Enix has co-ordinated on (they’ve released two Facebook games to date: Knights of the Crystals and Chocobo’s Crystal Tower), it will be the first game to actually attach itself to their flagship franchise.
We know very little about the game at the current juncture. From DeNA’s website (it’s in Japanese), we know it’s a social game that will emphasize co-operation and teamwork. Additionally, we know the game is tentatively known as Final Fantasy Mobage; consequently, it’ll be released on DeNA’s Mobage platform. We also know that people in Japan can pre-order the game early, and that those who do so will get several excellent rewards as a result.
