Staggering COD ELITE demand causing widespread registration issues
It looks like EA and DICE aren’t the only ones floored by the success of their latest release. Activision and Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 released today, and it didn’t take long for an overload ensue.
This morning around midnight, Beachhead Studio (the team put together to develop and manage COD ELITE) announced "registration requests for our new live service, Call of Duty Elite, are exceeding our most optimistic expectations, which is creating a bottleneck…some players have not been able to register."
Rest assured, those of you who want to sign up for the service will be able to do so in short order.
"We have already registered thousands of players," Beachhead's Chacko Sonny writes, "and we are working around the clock to increase our capacity as quickly as possible. If you encounter this issue, please check back here or follow us at @CallofDutyElite on Twitter for live status updates."
"Please be assured," Sonny concluded, "That your gameplay data is safe and that whenever you successfully register for Call of Duty Elite, all of your data will be waiting for you… enjoy your game, start ranking up, and we assure you we are working around the clock to accommodate every player who wants to be a part of COD Elite as quickly as possible."
