Jagged Alliance: Back in Action to incorporate Steamworks functionality

Jagged Alliance: Back in Action incorporates Valve's Steamworks functionality (PC, Kalypso, bitComposer)

Today, the first day of what could be the world's penultimate winter, Kalypso Media and bitComposer Games announced that they will be integrating Valve's Steamworks into their upcoming tactical RPG, Jagged Alliance: Back in Action.

What does this mean exactly? Let me tell you. Basically, the Steamworks functionality works like this: when a player buys Back in Action on DVD, they can use the code that comes with the packaging to activate the game online through Steam. This gives the player the ability to play the game even when the disc isn't loaded into the PC. In addition to that, the integration of Steamworks will allow auto updating and patching, voice chat, and Steam achievements. Neat stuff, huh?

Jagged Alliance: Back In Action will release in North America this February for Windows PC.
