The most pirated games of 2011; Crysis 2 tops all comers

2011 was a big year for games, and it was consequently a big year for software piracy. Let's have a look at the games everybody wanted to steal. Statistics are provided via TorrentFreak.
Crysis 2 takes the dubious award for the most pirated game of 2011, with 3,920,000 downloads in the month of March alone (this might have something to do with a copy of the game leaking out onto the 'net a month before release). In second place, we've got Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, with 3,650,000 downloads in November, and Battlefield 3 takes third with 3,510,000 downloads in October. FIFA 12 and Portal 2 took fourth and fifth on the list.
The Wii was the console most used by pirates last year, with Mario Sports Mix topping the list at 1,090,000 downloads in February 2011 (though it still doesn't top Super Mario Galaxy 2's whopping record of 1.2 million from last year). Also on the list were Xenoblade Chronicles, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, and FIFA 12.
The Xbox 360 had its fair share of pirates, too, with Gears of War 3 downloaded 890,000 times in September 2011, and Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 downloaded 830,00 and 760,000 times, respectively. Forza Motorsport 4 and Kinect Sports: Season Two came last on the list, with 720k and 690k.
