Microsoft Flight announced for spring 2012 release
Games for Windows is getting a nifty little program this spring known as Microsoft Flight.
A free download that can be connected to Games for Windows LIVE, Microsoft Flight allows players to… well, fly. Set on the island of Hawaii, the game allows players to choose from a number of different aircraft with which they can complete missions, gain achievements, and search out hidden "aerocaches". Daily updates ensure that there'll always be new content to explore, and carefully-crafted terrain and scenery will help make the experience all the more breathtaking.
Oh, and players will get the chance to fly the light sport aircraft ICON A5 in a virtual world well before it's released into the real world. Always a good thing, right? We've posted the latest screenshots of the aircraft throughout the article.
You can have a look at some gameplay footage below the jumps, and those of you attending the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (January 10 - 13) will have a chance to play the new flight simulator at the Microsoft booth; the rest of you will just have to wait until release. Or, you could sign up for the closed beta, which is still accepting participants.
