5 Franchises We'd Like to See Turned into LEGO Games
FEATURE | Author: Rando Evans

Over the years we've bashed and crashed our ways through the brick worlds of some of the biggest franchises turned LEGO by TT Games. Whether it was the dark city of Gotham, cracking apart MiniFig baddies with Indiana Jones' whip, or watching classic Star Wars scenes played out in the LEGO world, many of us have come to love and fondly enjoy these dependably fun series of LEGO games. With The Lord of the Rings LEGO sets due out this year (video game not confirmed), some of our dreams have finally come true. So what other franchises would be amazing to see turned into LEGOs? We came up with some franchises we can only hope TT Games can secure a contract with, so one day our brick building and smashing dreams will come true…

Avatar: The Last Airbender (TV Series)

With a new television series in the making, and a still growing fan base of the original series, Avatar: TLA offers a cast of characters with different abilities, which would make crashing our way through brick versions of the Four Kingdoms amazingly fun. It seems Avatar: The Last Airbender would be a ripe choice for a LEGO game. Whether you choose to play Aang, who could collect new abilities as he trains to become the Avatar, or Toph, slamming LEGO rocks around and shattering opposing forces into dozens of bricks, the world of Avatar lends itself perfectly to this brand of LEGO games.

Game of Thrones – A Song of Ice and Fire (TV / Book Series)

Though LEGO games often appeal to the younger crowd, there is no denying the fact that older audiences love the games just as much. With the popularity of the television series boosting the readers of the books, many are now familiar with the epic, dark, violent lands of Westeros. It might be a bit shocking to see the epic violent moments played out with the humor and light-heartedness of the typical TT Games' LEGO game, yet at the same time, it might be quite entertaining. With dozens and dozens of characters, a vast world to explore, and plenty of epic action pieces throughout both book and series, it would be a very interesting LEGO translation indeed. Though we might never see it, it would definitely be neat.

Marvel Universe (Comics / Movies)

Avengers anyone? It's actually surprising with the success of LEGO Batman (on the DC side of things), that LEGO hasn't attempted to head in the Marvel route (of course legalities / contracts always play a part of this). Imagine taking on the role of Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor, and The Hulk, all done up MiniFig style, and then crashing your way through armies of super villains (MiniFig Magneto and Red Skull FTW!). With a diverse amount of abilities, and the idea of combing attacks to create awesome superpower combos, there's no reason to keep us drooling marvel fanboys / girls from having this game!

Disney (Movies)

Take Kingdom Hearts, remove all the Square-Enix elements, and then turn it LEGO. Not bad, huh? There's plenty of Disney fans out there, and if Disney Universe didn't quite satiate your appetite to jump into various Disney worlds, then imagine the old favorites and classics done up MiniFig and all LEGO blocked out! With Aladdin, Lion King, Mulan, and even recent releases like Bolt and Tangled, there'd plenty of worlds and characters to visit, and the Disney franchise Pirates of the Caribbean already got its LEGO transition, so why not everything else? Why, some of us would even like to see TRON!

5 Franchises We'd Like to See Turned into LEGO Games - Disney

Star Trek (Movies / TV Series)

There's no doubt that even three years later, the 2009 Star Trek has brought a slew of new fans to the series, and with the current streams of Star Trek series on Netflix, even more fans are drooling over the age-old exploits of Kirk, Picard, and even the DS9 and Voyager crew. We have our LEGO Star Wars, so where's our chance to play the MiniFigs of the Federation? If you weren't a kid trying to build a U.S.S. Enterprise out of the LEGOs you had at hand, you just didn't have a proper childhood!

Impossibilities

Uncharted (Video game series)

Would two gaming companies ever team up to churn out something like this? Probably not, but wouldn't it be fun to replay Uncharted 1-3 all "LEGOed" out? A mini figure of Drake may already exist, but let's see the rest of the crew and those far off lands and adventure turned LEGO. Wouldn't it be neat to have a few short (possibly non-cannon) "new" adventures told via the LEGO series or DLC? Well, we think so.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Transformers (Movies / TV Series)

Hasbro and LEGO may never get together to make toys, but with the idea of LEGO Transformers bashing and crashing their way through brick cities, I think there's plenty of opportunity! Or what about MiniFig versions of Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie breaking bricks through Equestria? Okay, okay, so maybe there's a Brony in the mix of writers here at Gamedynamo, but he swears it'd be neat. For Hasbro fans, this would just all be too cool, yet probably too bizarre and geeky to ever come to fruition. Oh well, there's always dreams… and real-life modded LEGO sets!
