Warriors Orochi 3 is a Tecmo Koei mash-up coming to Xbox 360 and PS3

Tecmo Koei America today announced the North American release date for the latest title in its Warriors Orochi franchise. Warriors Orochi 3 will hit North American shelves on March 20, 2012, and will be available on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. European gamers will have to wait just a bit longer, as WO3 launches on March 30th in PAL territories.
Combining the heroes of the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises, Warriors Orochi 3 also throws in characters from Ninja Gaiden, Warriors: Legends of Troy, Bladestorm, Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll, and even Dead or Alive.
Set several years after the defeat of Orochi, the Serpent King, Warriors Orochi 3 features the heroes of the Three Kingdoms and Warring States struggling to build lives for themselves, until a creature resembling a Hydra shows up and more or less mops the floor with them. Things get a little strange at that point, with a strange character known as Kaguya taking the survivors back through time to help the fallen warriors gather their strength (and some new allies) to take on the Hydra.
Characters from alternate universes and timelines are also dragged into the fray – apparently killing Orochi created some kind of dimensional vortex. Ryu Hayabusa, Achilles, Jeanne D'arc, Nemea, and Ayane all show up to strut their stuff, and Koei's implied that they aren't the only characters who will be making a cameo (apparently their will a roster of over 120 playable characters).
Featuring a plethora of new gameplay mechanics and multiplayer components, Warriors Orochi 3's looking to be an excellent addition to the series, and one that's definitely worth taking for a spin.
