According to PC Magazine, the electronics supergiant just hired Robin Burrowes, UK Head of marketing for Xbox LIVE, to manage its European App Store. Burrowes started his Microsoft career in 2005, and was handed a promotion to marketing manager in 2008. In January, however, his tenure at Microsoft came to a close, and he joined up with Apple. 

Burrowes isn't the only gaming exec who's been jumping ship to Apple, either, reports MCV. Last April, Apple nabbed Robert Saunders, a former Nintendo PR exec, who joined Cupertino to work on iOS app promotion. They also hired Nick Grange, who's worked at Activision, EA, and Microsoft. Whether this is a result of the heavy promotions Apple's been doing concerning the gaming capabilities of its devices, or a hiring campaign by the business, isn't clear. 

Apple also made another UK hire earlier this week, snagging John Browett, one-time CEO of electronics at Dixon, to be its new retail chief. Browett will replace Ron Johnson, credited with creating the Genuis Bar, who stepped down in November to take a position as CEO of JC Penney.
