Darksiders II release date and pre-order incentives revealed by THQ

Hey there, folks. Got some good news for any of you who enjoyed rampaging about as War in the original Darksiders.
THQ announced that Darksiders II finally has a release date. A couple hours ago, a post on the THQ Community Forums detailed both the launch day as well as some of the pre-order bonuses gamers will have access to depending on where they order the game.
By ordering at GameStop, the Death Riders will be unlocked, granting access to a bunch of exclusive side-quests in the Maker's Realm and Dead Plains, allowing players to battle against an ancient construct, fight the bloodless, and track down the lost treasure of Karn.

Best Buy, meanwhile, will give players access to the Angel of Death pack, with new, angelic armor for Death along with a pair of matching scythe. Oh, and they'll also get a special, purple visual trail for Death's Crow. Yeah, Angel Of Death's a lot more cosmetic than the others.
Deadly Despair, obtained by pre-ordering via Amazon, will give Death's horse Despair a huge speed boost. That's… pretty much all it'll do, really.

Darksiders II hits store shelves on June 26, 2012 in North America. Unfortunately, no other region received an official launch date, though Friday, June 29, 2012 seems the likeliest candidate. Darksiders II follows the exploits of War's brother, Death, during the events of the first game.
