My money is on the American Revolution
During an investor call, Ubisoft confirmed that the next numbered entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise will release on October 30, 2012.
Few facts are known at this time, but it has been confirmed that a new protagonist will star in Assassin's Creed III. Also, Ubisoft honcho, Yves Guillemot, confirmed that the team has been working on the game for three years now, and that it is supposedly so special that Ubisoft will be making a big push with it.
Though details are scant, plenty of conjecture abounds. Rumor has it that ACIII will take place in ancient Egypt, Ming Dynasty China, the American Revolution, or during the French Revolution of 1789.
In related Ubisoft news, a story-driven, cinematic trailer for Far Cry 3 leaked to the Internet. Slated to drop tomorrow, the 'Stranded' trailer has since been made live by Ubisoft, giving us a look at the game's setting through some decidedly impressive CG. Ubisoft also confirmed that Far Cry 3 will hit stores on September 4 in North America, September 6 in Australia, and September 7 in Europe.
