(Continuation)

DMC (Devil May Cry) (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Publisher: Capcom

Releases: TBA 2012

Multiplayer: none

The Devil May Cry reboot, DMC, will bring quite a few changes for Dante. Not only does he look different, he's now a half demon, half angel. Dante is stuck in Limbo, a city that randomly shifts between a normal metropolis and a demented, twisted realm that harbors demons. The city itself is beset against Dante. On top of a ton of juggle attacks and special flourishes, Dante can circumvent confrontation by stopping the city from releasing demons. Sure, there are changes in coming, but sure combat be just as fast and electric as prior DMC games offered. Dante's sword can morph into several weapons like an axe, scythe and grappling hook. Little else is know about the game thus far, and having seen mixed reception in the forums, we wouldn't be totally shocked if its already nonspecific launch was delayed.

DMC (Devil May Cry) (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Halo 4 (Xbox 360)

Publisher: Microsoft

Releases: Holiday 2012

Multiplayer: Online and local competitive and co-op

Master Chief is back. For Xbox gamers, that statement is usually enough to get the juices flowing. But, with Halo 4 under development at a new studio, we're excited and a little nervous to see what's in store for John-117. From what is out there though, it sounds like Master Chief is in good hands. Developer 343 Industries plans to integrate everything we love about Halo and add new features to innovate online and campaign gameplay. Details are still largely unknown, but we have a good feeling that integrating the Forerunner planets into the story and updating gameplay sounds like a recipe for success.

Halo 4 (Xbox 360)

Guild Wars 2 (PC)

Publisher: NCSoft

Releases: TBA 2012

Multiplayer: Online competitive and co-op

Guild Wars 2 is offering both MMO gameplay and a dynamic story that reacts to players' actions. With an emphasis on story and action, ArenaNet is using the Havok physics engine to bring new effects to the table that will impact the story arcs and all levels of combat. There is an immense pool of skills to select from, but class and profession selection will narrow the skills available to players. The MMO genre is crowded with great games, but GW2 has the chops to stand out as an amazing title that has the best of the MMO and RPG worlds.

Guild Wars 2 (PC)

Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance (PS3, Xbox 360)

Publisher: Konami

Releases: TBA 2012

Multiplayer: none

For a game that was nearly cancelled, Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance sure looks like an awesome time. As a spin-off entry in the Metal Gears saga, MGS icon Raiden takes the leading role in his own over-the-top hack ‘n' slash game. The coolest feature by far is Free Slicing. Players manually guide the ninja cyborg's blade to slice and dice in any direction they choose. We've seen this used to break environmental objects and cover, and yes…dismember many, many bad guys in very, very awesome ways. Free Slicing can also be used with a time-freeze effect, giving Raiden the ability to pinpoint an enemy's weak spots or even deflect bullets. We're hoping to see Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance sooner rather than later, but at this point it's anybody's guess when (or if) this game will be unsheathed unto the world.
