A lot of people have Wiis. A lot of people who have Wiis also have access to broadband internet; that's a group the subscription-based video-streaming service Hulu Plus wants to reach out to. Today , it has been revealed that Wii owners can now subscribe to Hulu Plus for a monthly fee of $7.99, which allows them to watch the hundreds of TV shows and movies available through the service from the comfort of their Wiis.

"Wii offers the most entertainment fun for everyone in the family, with an impressive selection of streaming movies and TV shows in addition to an unparalleled lineup of games that can't be played anywhere else," said Nintendo of America's Senior Director and General Manager of Network Business, Tony Elison. "The Wii console is the hub of the living room, and with the addition of Hulu Plus, millions of households now have even more options for streaming premium TV shows and movies."
Likewise, Pete Distad, Hulu's VP of Marketing and Distribution, said, "We want to be everywhere, on every screen where people want to watch their favorite shows and discover new ones on their own schedule. Wii is not only one of the most important entertainment devices in the living room, but one of the most heavily anticipated and requested platforms by users and subscribers. Teaming up with Nintendo gives millions of households across the U.S. an immediate way to access some of their favorite current season shows on-demand in their living room through Hulu Plus."
The Hulu Plus app can be downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel for no cost (sweet!). And for the first month of launch, all those who download the app, yet do not have a Hulu Plus account, will get a two-week free trial (double sweet!!). It has also been revealed that Hulu Plus will also make its way to the 3DS later this year.
