Not that long ago, writer Drew Karpyshyn, who was been creating stories for BioWare since 2000, announced that he has retired from the company, stating that he wishes to spend more time on his novels and non-video game-related projects.
In doing so, Karpyshyn leaves behind a twelve-year legacy that has involved such notable games as Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

"For the past twelve years I’ve had the privilege to work at one of the best companies in the video game industry, side by side with the most talented and incredible group of people I’ve ever had the good fortune to know," Karpyshyn said. "I’ve enjoyed my time at BioWare immensely, but it’s time for me to move on."
That’s not to say Karpyshyn has cut all ties with BioWare. Following the announcement of his retirement, he revealed that he is working on a novel tie-in for Star Wars: The Old Republic, though he wasn’t able to say much more about it.
