Ever since SwapNote went live for the Nintendo 3DS, we were thrilled by the app's possibilities; what a clever way to stay in touch with friends... and Nintendo.
Today, 3DS owners across North America received a note through the app from Nintendo of America President and Chief Operating Officer Reggie Fils-Aime. In it, Reggie let everyone know that an announcement would be made tomorrow, February 22 at 9:00 AM EST. The topic of discussion is a mystery, however.
According to a post by Joystiq, Nintendo of Japan will also have its own Nintendo Direct event tomorrow, hosted by Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata at 6:00 AM EST. If Joystick is correct, this announcement will cover "some Wii and 3DS news."

Whatever is announced, it will likely be big, as Sony officially releases the PlayStation Vita in North America on February 22. Obviously, Nintendo is hoping its revelation is able to capture some, or all, of the limelight.
What's that you say? You're ready for some unabashed, wanton speculation? How about a redesigned 3DS? Perhaps a Wii U release date?
The North American Nintendo Direct conference can be viewed here. What do you think will be announced tomorrow? Let us know.
