Sonic Team and SEGA have no plans to develop Sonic 4 beyond Episode 2
Say you're excited. Say you're excited for the impending release of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2. Say you're excited as you say "Finally, it's about time. I sure hope Episode 3 doesn't take as long." If you're excited for the last part (the Episode 3 part of the last part), then the words of Sonic Team producer Takashi Iizuka may just shatter your hopes to the core.

What did he say? Basically that there is no plans for any more episodes after Episode 2.
"We are looking forward to hearing the feedback from the users for Episode 2, but we are currently not planning to release another episode," he said in an interview with Digital Spy. "We just want to see how the users accept this episode."
So you see, readers and fellow gamers, the fate of Sonic the Hedgehog 4, and any potential subsequent installments, depends on you. If you want to see a future where there is such a thing as an Episode 3, then be sure to show Episode 2 your support when SEGA releases it sometime this spring for PSN, XBLA, PC, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone (it won't be coming to WiiWare like the first episode did… bummer).
