A swift bout of layoffs bombarded Obsidian Entertainment this week. Messages left in the company's forums served to lay out a picture of the damage, while further details from Twitter posts help to reveal more the true extent of the damage.

Obsidian Entertainment layoffs (South Park, The Game)

"Another project canceled, this time for a future next-gen project and the layoffs impacted that team, plus the existing South Park team," a tipster told Joystiq. "Approximately 20-30 people from all disciplines, including one person who started yesterday, as well as one who started last week."

How this affects the company and it projects, like the South Park: The Game, remains to be seen. As of now, Obsidian has yet to comment on its situation.
