LittleBigPlanet Karting announced for PS3; new details, screenshots, and trailer emerge
Aside from a brief confirmation from Sony last month, there's been nothing said about LittleBigPlanet Karting. Until now.
On the PlayStation Blog today, new details about the game emerged. To start, the game is currently in development for the PS3 as a collaboration between franchise creator Media Molecule and ModNation Racers-developers United Front Games.
Despite being a kart-racer, the game is still a LBP title, through and through. And as such, it will retain a heavy focus on creativity. The game will feature plenty of gadgets from previous games, as well as a new toolbox tailor-made for building in the 3D world of LBP Karting. While the game will come with racing and battle modes, it will be so that players can modify the rules to create their own unique modes and challenges. All of this will be tied together by the kind of community experience that fans will be familiar with.
"Our goal with LBP Karting has been fairly simple – provide a fast-paced experience that captures the best of classic karting gameplay, married with the unbridled creativity of LBP," Media Molecule's Siobhan Reddy. "This new adventure will be accessible to players of all ages and have all of the variety necessary to satisfy both the hardcore and more casual players."
LittleBigPlanet Karting is slated to come out sometime this year. Until then, here's the LBP Karting Announcement Trailer for you to enjoy.
