Marvel to produce a 3-part Max Payne 3 comic series

Think Max Payne 3 would make an awesome comic book? Rockstar Games seems to think so, as it has just announced a partnership with Marvel Custom Solutions to produce a 3-part, original Max Payne 3 comic series that will be released in digital form and in limited print editions.

Delving into the troubled past of the game's anti-hero, the series will explore the events that occurred during Max Payne and Max Payne 2, serving as a lead-up to Max Payne 3. At the same time, it will shed new light on the early years of the man, Max Payne.

The series is written by Rockstar's Dan Houser (who is known for writing most of the Grand Theft Auto games following GTA III) and Remedy's Sam Lake (who was the lead writer for Alan Wake). On the art side, comic book artist Greg Horn provides cover art, while the pencils and inks are by Fernando Blanco.

The first issue, "After the Fall" will be released within the next few weeks for the low, low price of nothing. You can find it through the Rockstar Newswire and the Max Payne 3 official site, as well as through additional digital comic channels.
