Darksiders II delayed to August; THQ revises Q4 financials upward due to strong sales of Saints Row: The Third
There's plenty of THQ-related news today.
First off, Vigil Games confirmed the rumors that Darksiders II (which is being published by THQ, in case you didn't know) will be pushed back from its June release to sometime in August. Vigil promises, though, that the time will be well used to polish the game and to ensure that it is as high quality a product as they are hoping for.
Also, for those who pre-ordered the game, worry not. You will still receive the Limited Edition of Darksiders II upon release, as well as any and all associated retail-exclusive content.
In other news, THQ revealed the financial results for its 2011 fiscal fourth quarter that ended recently on March 31. According to a THQ investor notification, the publisher expects to report sales of $160 million to $170 million, a good deal higher than its previous estimate in the range of $130 million to $150 million. THQ believes that the strong sales of Saints Row: The Third (which has shipped more than four million units) and the higher-than-expected sales of UFC Undisputed 3 were considerable factors in this.
Currently, the company anticipates a net loss for the fourth quarter in the range of about $0.10 to $0.20, much better than the previous expected losses of $0.35 to $0.50.
