Ghost Recon Alpha, the short film prequel to Future Solider, is coming May 3; 'Crossover' trailer inside
Today is filled with news regarding live-action spins on popular games. First comes the news of a Halo web-series, and now Ubisoft comes along with news of its own.
The news concerns the upcoming short film, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Alpha, a 25-minute prequel to the upcoming video game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Today, Ubisoft revealed a trailer (which you can see below) for Ghost Recon Alpha that serves to illustrate a few of the connections between the film and the game.
But if you're feeling too lazy to watch the trailer, here's the gist of the connections:
- The four main characters in the film are the four playable characters in the game.
- The film is set right before a huge attack on a major European city, an important turning point in the game's story.
- The film will be located on one the maps available in the game's multiplayer mode.
Aside from these, Ubisoft revealed that a secret code is hidden in the movie, a code that will enable, via Ghost Recon Network, access to an exclusive weapon unlock in Future Soldier.
Ghost Recon Alpha will make its US premiere on G4 Television this Thursday, May 3, at 6:30 pm. That's a little over 50 hours away, if you're wondering. We've posted a bunch of Ghost Recon Alpha screenshots below, as well.
