Angry Birds reaches 1 billion downloads
Hate it when people get behind a media franchise with unparalleled vigor, shelling out cash with seemingly reckless abandon because it is the big thing? Sort of like, say, Angry Birds? If so, prepare to reel where you read, because Rovio has let out some big news today, the kind that will get the kind of people described above to writhe and wail.
Today, Rovio announced that the grand total of all Angry Birds games downloaded has reached a whopping 1 billion. 1 billion! For those who find it easier to gauge these things by numbers, that's 1,000,000,000.
(*Whistles*) Impressive.
Don't think, though, that Rovio has any plans to rest on all those downloads now. "This is only the beginning of our story," the company said on its website, "keep your eyes peeled for what's coming up next from Rovio!"
What say you about all this, readers? Feel free to share your thoughts on Rovio, Angry Birds, and what the developer may have coming.
