Aliens: Colonial Marines release date delayed until February 2013
Those of you who've been waiting for the release of Aliens: Colonial Marines are going to have to wait a little bit longer. Earlier today, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford issued a statement confirming that the title wouldn't be hitting store shelves until February 12, 2013. Originally, the release was planned for this Autumn – on PC, at least. None of the other release dates have been specified yet.
"We're now at the point in development where we can see the end," said Pitchford. "We know what's left to do and can sufficiently quantify it to be very confident in the schedule for the game's completion and commercial release."

"We've remained true to our vision. We've been committed to it, through and through. We've always prioritised the goals we had for the game over any particular launch window." In fact," Pitchford told Game Industry International, "with the release date now set, it turns out the total development time we've spent creating Aliens: Colonial Marines is about the same length of time as we had spent creating the original Borderlands or Brothers in Arms – both games that we waited to announce until we were much further along in the development process."
"Now that the title's in its final stretch of development, we can confidently release the exact date that gamers will finally get to experience this blockbuster thrill-ride," added Senior VP of Marketing Gary Knight.
