E3 2012: Microsoft Press Conference - Highlights, Images, and Videos
Featuring games, both hardcore and casual, and partnerships for their Xbox 360 console with companies such as Nike and Nickelodeon, and even a performance by Usher, the Xbox E3 Media Briefing offered something for everyone.

In an all-new trailer that showed Cortana shown as a human, the Halo 4 trailer began with scenes that could have been from any game set in the future. Everything soon changed back to the familiar franchise we know and love when Master Chief arrived. The trailer showed off a new weapon for as a strange third force arrived, the forerunners. Attacking everything in sight, this new enemy means business as it makes its presence known through use of a destructive red laser.
Another trailer was then shown, again looking very much like a scene right out of something else on the market like COD: Black Ops. A scene set in a war medic tent goes bad and a man pull off his headscarf to reveal himself as Sam Fisher. Titled Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the spring 2013 release looks to combine the slower stealth based gameplay of the older titles in the series. The gameplay shown demonstrated brutal kills and use of the Kinect to distract enemies and call in supplies.

Next up was EA games to show off its flagship sports titles, FIFA 13 and Madden 13. First was FIFA 13, which was revealed to give the player all of the abilities of a coach without having to open up a menu. Commentary also changes if the camera can detect a bad word from the player. Madden was shown afterwards with help from Joe Montana, players are able to call down directly from the field. Both games will launch this year, with FIFA launching worldwide with multi-language support.
Trailers for Gears of War: Judgment and a Forza Horizon were shown next; unfortunately, both trailers didn’t feature a lot of gameplay, with Gears showing the least.
The presentation then went on to talk about the non-gaming, multimedia features of Xbox like the Bing search, which has been improved to support genre search, and an additional 12 languages. More entertainment partners were announced, with the major ones for this update being Nickelodeon, Machinima, Paramount movies, and Univision. ESPN content has been expanded, additionally; the NHL and NBA will have apps added to the system, with the NBA app allowing users to watch two games at once.
An Xbox fitness partnership with Nike was announced, combining fitness, gaming and Kinect to create a different exercise experience. Nike is providing world-class athlete exercise routines with the competitive infrastructure of Xbox live to offer something unique this fall.
The long rumored Xbox Smart Glass was revealed with support for all three major mobile Operating systems. Xbox Smart Glass takes the smartphone entertainment experience to the next level by allowing the transfer if content between devices seamlessly. As demonstrated, movies can be pushed onto another screen, and the screen it was removed from will then display information about what was previously on it. The use of Xbox Smart Glass can be applied to other applications on the console also, with the Halo 4 using it for character selection.

Resident Evil 6, Tomb Raider, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 were shown in gameplay demonstrations and declared to have their DLC first on Xbox, while XBLA was covered with a trio of titles, including one from the creator of Pirates of the Caribbean. Usher made a surprise appearance during the Dance Central 3 presentation, performing the dance to one of his featured songs in the game.

With a slew of new features to compete with its rivals, Microsoft’s E3 presser was one grounded in stability.
