Dark Souls' Artorias of the Abyss DLC coming this winter; Prepare to Die Edition to PC this August

There's plenty of news regarding Dark Souls. You know what that means? Yes, it means there are more ways to suffer a gratuitous death coming soon to masochistic gamers everywhere, regardless of which system they're playing on.

Namco Bandai announced that the console versions of the game will be getting the new content which will be introduced in the Dark Souls: Prepare to Die PC version (awesome name, by the way. It says a lot). That way, no one gets left in the cold content-wise.

Dark Souls Artorias of the Abyss DLC and Prepare to Die Edition (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

And this winter, the Dark Souls experience will get a welcome addition with the Artorias of the Abyss expansion DLC. This expansion is loaded, adding more explorable areas, bosses, regular enemies, NPCs, armor, weapons, and more ways to die in the game. The DLC will be sold through Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network for 1200 Microsoft Points and $14.99 USD, respectively.

As for Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for PC (again I have to make note of the name), it will be available for download through Steam and Games for Windows on August 24. In Europe and Australia, a special retail version of the PC SKU will be available on that day, with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions to follow later this winter.

Check out the trailer below to get a taste of what's going to kill you later this year.
