Inafune's Soul Sacrifice is coming to PS Vita in North America and Europe
All of you saw the PS Vita announcement for Soul Sacrifice, right? You know, Keiji Inafune's awesome sword-and-sorcery RPG? A crying shame it's only been scheduled for Japanese release at the current juncture. Well, until today, anyway.
Along with MarvelousAQL, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Wataru Hokoyama, Keiji Inafune is bringing the game to North American and European shores! We don't know anything about a release date quite yet (we don't even know when it's coming to Japan, truth be told), but we'll be finding out more at E3, so stay tuned. We'll definitely keep you posted on this one.
For those of you who want to know a bit about the game, Inafune offered up a few details along with the Western release announcement.
"What I wanted to illustrate in this game was a "reality blended into a fantasy world." The word "fantasy" normally points to a story that is fictitious, however, with Soul Sacrifice, I wanted to illustrate a world that wasn't sugar coated. It's not about focusing on the strange, but to flip the commonly held concept of what a fantasy theme should be with the concept of 'reality.'"
"Cruelty is a reality in our world," he continued, "and we have to make sacrifices and pay costs on a daily basis. I wanted to blend this into a fantasy world, one filled with magic, and create a new type of gaming experience that relied on the player making sacrifices in order to obtain great power."
Basically, it's a dark fantasy title that dials up the realism to 11.
