E3: Dawnguard beta starts next week, DLC coming at the end of the month
Dawnguard, the vampire hunting Skyrim DLC that was announced in May finally has a release date. According to Joystiq, Bethesda’s Todd Howard said that it’ll be hitting Xbox Live by the end of the month, giving a tentative release date of June 26, and will retail at around 1600 MS Points($20.00). PS3 and PC owners will have to wait until the end of July, unfortunately. That’s not the exciting part, though.

The exciting part is that, next week, the beta for Dawnguard kicks into full swing, and both PC and Xbox 360 owners will have the chance to participate. Those of you who want to sign up can swing by the Dawnguard Beta Site and fill out an application form, along with a quick survey about your “experience with Skyrim.” Once that process is complete, accepted players will receive their beta invite in a matter of days.
Given that the beta features the full content (and that includes achievements), well…it’s a pretty sweet deal. Those of you who want a bit more information about Dawnguard can check out the E3 demo below. Me, I’ve got an application to fill out.
