Ubisoft and Paramount are in talks to bring Splinter Cell to the big screen
It looks like Sam Fisher may have a new mission to tackle soon: attracting moviegoers to the box office.
Deadline reports that Ubisoft is in talks with Paramount to bring Splinter Cell to the big screen. At the moment, Paramount would not comment beyond saying that there is no deal just yet. Should a deal go through, Ubisoft will be very involved with the production, retaining control over how the game is adapted.

Video game movie deals are complicated, Deadline notes, and the end results usually stink (who here can free their mind of the horrors of the Super Mario Bros. movie). But in the case of Splinter Cell, the material lends itself well enough to a potential action-thriller that it just might buck the trend.
With a smart script, good direction, and faithfulness to the original source, I believe that Splinter Cell could make a worthwhile movie. Do you guys think so? Let us know in the comment section below.
