JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. is coming to XBLA and PSN in August
Hot on the heels of Namco and CyberConnect2 announcing a brand-new 3D fighter based on the long-running Manga series, Capcom has announced an HD re-release of the 2D fighting game Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver.'s story centers on the Joestar family, from which the series' protagonist Jotaro Kujo hails. The game features a unique take on Capcom's tag team fighting game systems, where the character's partner-use is limited through the addition of a "stand" meter that depletes as the partner is damaged.
Previously released in arcades, the original PlayStation, and Dreamcast, the fighter returns upscaled in HD with options to view the game in its original SD resolution. As per any fighting game released this generation, the game offers online play with 8-player lobbies and a system similar to Super Street Fighter IV, where players can choose opponents based on factors such as skill or location. A ranking system is also available where players earn battle points for each character and overall player strength. In addition to the visual updates and added online gameplay, the title also implements a video function that allows match replays to be shared with other online.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. will release August 21 on PlayStation Network for $19.99 and August 22 on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 1600 Microsoft points.
