Rock Band Blitz set for August release on PSN and XBLA
Old school Harmonix is going to get real next month. Rock Band Blitz, the downloadable music game that plays similarly to the Amplitude titles from the developer’s earliest days, has been set with release dates.
The game will come out first on the PlayStation Network on August 28 for $14.99 (and you don’t have to pay extra for a plastic peripheral this time). The following day, August 29, will see the game’s launch on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 1,200 Microsoft Points.

In addition to the release dates, four songs have also been announced for Blitz, bringing the grand total of songs available in the game from 20 to 24 (not including the mind-boggling number of songs accessible via the Rock Band store). Those songs are:
• Avenged Sevenfold – "So Far Away"
• Fun. ft. Janelle Monáe – "We Are Young"
• Kool & The Gang – "Jungle Boogie"
• My Chemical Romance – "Sing"
