Grand Theft Auto III confirmed for PlayStation Network release
Grand Theft Auto III was a big turning point for Rockstar's top franchise. It took GTA from the top-down perspective of the previous entries and set the series on the path that it walks today, a path filled with cash and critical praise.
And next Tuesday, GTA III will be re-released onto the PlayStation Network for the price of $9.99. Don't expect a fancy HD remaster, though. This version of GTA III is a PlayStation 2 Classic title, meaning the game available next Tuesday will be the same exact game as the one released back in 2001.

News of Grand Theft Auto III's re-release first broke back in January, when the ESRB's rating for the PSN version of the game was discovered. Along with that game, the ESRB had also rated a PSN version of GTA: Vice City, though word of a release date for that one has yet to emerge.
