EA and Visceral Montreal announce Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel

Visceral Montreal (a new satellite studio from the folks behind Dead Space) and EA today revealed, through a Game Informer exclusive sneak peek, the latest title in their flagship Army of Two series…and it looks a little different from what one would expect in an Army of Two title.

Called Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel, Visceral Montreal is planning to take the game in a more 'mature' direction, emphasizing storytelling over the "Bro-war" antics of the previous titles. With two new characters at the helm, named Alpha and Bravo, the studio plans to make some waves using EA DICE's much-lauded Frostbite Engine 2 (fully destructible terrain, anyone?).

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel announced by EA and Visceral Montreal

"I felt like the first two Army games were good games, but they weren't great games," said Zach Mumbach. "They were memorable and they were fun to play, but they weren't on that level where you're going to tell your friends ‘Man, you have to play this game.' I think that Visceral being involved, especially on Frostbite 2, is just a huge opportunity."

To that end, Game Informer's ten page September issue is going to feature a world-exclusive first-look at the game. They're also going to give us some coverage on Dishonored, The Last Story, and Sleeping Dogs. If you just can't wait, check out the video below for a quick look.
