LucasArts president Paul Meegan departs; development schedule will not be affected

Some weeks after it lost key executive Clint Hocking, LucasArts has revealed that now its president has stepped down.

Speaking to Gamesindustry International, LucasArts confirmed the departure of Paul Meegan, the man credited with pushing the development of titles like Star Wars 1313. The company notes, however, that development on all current projects will not be affected.

"Paul has been a valuable member of the Lucasfilm leadership team and we wish him the best in his future endeavors. We remain committed to our current projects and will be re-evaluating LucasArts' leadership needs to ensure that we make the right decisions to keep the studio focused," said Mich Chau, President and COO at Lucasfilm.

At the moment, LucasArts has no plans to find a replacement for Meegan, and for the time being, Kevin Parker and Gio Corsi, members of the studio’s leadership team, will co-lead the company.

While LucasArts has not stated the reasons behind the departures of Hocking, Meegan, or, for that matter, any of the other former executives that have jumped ship in recent years, the possibilities are often discussed within industry circles. Some of the more outspoken folk have even gone out and called the studio a “mess”.

What do you guys think the internal state of LucasArts is like? Let us know.
