Has the box art for Wii U games been revealed?
Guess what? The box art is legit. Nintendo said so. Here’s their official statement:
"Nintendo has finalized the design of the Wii U game box art, and many of our publishing partners have already incorporated it into their own game packaging. We are seeing those game packages online as retailers are starting to showcase their games. For details about a specific game's artwork, please contact the game's publisher. Nintendo-published game boxes will appear shortly with placeholder logos, and then ultimately with the final artwork for each game."
Are we getting out first look at what the packaging art for Wii U game boxes will look like?
Yesterday, box art for Ubisoft titles Assassin's Creed III, Marvel The Avengers: Battle for Earth, and Just Dance 4 appeared on Amazon.ca, featuring the blue and yellow Wii U banner (which is rather reminiscent of the one used for Nintendo GameCube game boxes) that you can see below.
While neither Nintendo nor Ubisoft have spoken about the box art, further evidence suggesting that this is, in fact, the official Wii U package design emerged today, when box art popped up via GameStop and Target. As you can see in the images below, it looks like the boxes themselves will be the same shade of light blue as the banner.
What do you guys think? Would this make for good Wii U packaging? Is the yellow streak too much? Let us know.
