Marvel vs. Capcom Origins release date set for PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade

Next month, fighter fans will be able to tap into genre nostalgia like never before, as they will be able to download Capcom's classic fighter collection Marvel vs. Capcom Origins on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade starting September 25.

If you don't happen to recall when the game was first announced back in early July, here's all you really need to know about MVC Origins: it's a collection featuring two of the 90's most popular arcade games, Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, along with gameplay that is kept the same as it was back in the day.

However, just because they want to avoid messing with nostalgia, it doesn't mean Capcom's not bringing in anything new; indeed, they are. From a GGPO-enhanced online experience to HD graphical improvements (just to name a few additions), MVC Origins will be bringing plenty of new stuff to the table.

Now to address the matter of pricing. If you want to buy the game on PSN, then be ready to fork over $14.99 for it. XBLA gamers will have a similar price to pay at 1200 Microsoft Points.

A load of new Marvel vs. Capcom Origins screenshots and images, released by Capcom, have been posted below. Have a look.
