SEGA and Gearbox announce 'Escape Mode' for Aliens: Colonial Marines' multiplayer
(Editor's note: I was tempted to start with an allusion to that famous 'close encounter' line from the movie, but I thought it'd be too forced. Oh well.)
A new multiplayer mode is coming to Aliens: Colonial Marines, SEGA and Gearbox announced today. Called "Escape Mode," it promises to deliver "an exhilarating experience for fans of the Aliens universe."

In what can be described as the ultimate game of virtual cat-and-mouse, Escape Mode tasks a four-player team of US Colonial Marines with making their way through a "fast-paced" map, all the while dodging and fighting back against the four-player team of Xenomorphs tasked with killing them before they can escape. With pressure mounting and time limited, each team must work together and use their unique skills, while exploiting the other's weaknesses, in order to meet their goal.
Does that get you wanting to try it out? Well, if you happen to be in Seattle during the next few days, you'll be able to do so at the PAX Prime 2012 event (August 31- September 2), where Escape Mode will make its debut for all to try (you will find SEGA's booth covering numbers 242 and 252 on the show floor).
Also, PAX attendees will be able to climb inside a custom-made, 16-foot power-loader statue (complete with attacking Xenomorph) and have their picture taken. Sweet.
Aliens: Colonial Marines debuts on February 12, 2013, for PS3, X360, and PC. The Wii U version's release date will be announced at a future time.
