The release date for the long anticipated sequel to Torchlight, aptly titled Torchlight II, has been announced: Thursday, September 20.

Runic Games finally unveils the Torchlight II release date (PC, Steam, Diablo, RPG)

The title has been in development since at least August 2010, and it was previously announced it would release in November 2011, which was later changed to sometime in 2012 to polish the product and beta test it.

The sequel to the 2009 original continues with the Diablo-esque gameplay but switches things up a bit.  All character classes are completely new, multiplayer has been added, and modding capabilities have been expanded.
