Dead Island Riptide gets first CGI trailer; Techland and Deep Silver detail the co-op mode
People went absolutely batty over that cinematic trailer Deep Silver made for Dead Island. Today, the developer released a similar trailer for that game's sequel, Dead Island Riptide. Does it have that same level of cinematic-ness that made its predecessor such a crowd-pleaser? Watch and find out (just don't let the kiddies watch).
A press release from Deep Silver was released today as well, detailing some of the gameplay elements in store for those heading back to the now monsoon-ravaged island of Palanai. In addition to a fifth new character and new types of zombies to take on, Riptide will include new hub defense co-op missions where players need to work together to raise fences, place traps, and set up turrets to hold back the undead hordes.
In addition, the co-op mode will come with brand new communication features that will allow players to easily strategize and keep tabs on one another, which will be important in keeping everybody alive and undead (that is, not a zombie).
Dead Island Riptide will release sometime next year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
