Report: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's 'Dragonborn' DLC includes dragon mounts and a bit of Morrowind
If you thought riding a horse in Skyrim was instant bodacity, just wait until you get your backside on a dragon.
That appears to be a considerable possibility, as eagle-eyed PC gamers have uncovered a number of filenames hidden within Skyrim's latest update which indicate the existence of a DLC pack called 'Dragonborn'.
Aside from hinting at the abilities to mount dragons, the evidence uncovered also points to the DLC taking place in Morrowind, the setting for The Elder Scrolls III. There have been rumors suggesting something like this for a while, since Morrowind locations like Lake Solstheim and Vvardenfell can be seen just beyond the Skyrim world map.
Also discovered were quest markers for Solstheim, Telvanni, Castle Karstaag, Raven Rock, and Miraak Temple, as well as four new armor varites based off equipment from Morrowind (Bonemold, Chitin, Nordic, and Stalhrim). But the most telling (and exciting) discovery was the files containing dragon-riding animations.
Earlier this year, ZeniMax, Bethesda's parent company, trademarked "Dragonborn", which the intent to use for downloadable game software. Hopefully this means that we will hear something more concrete in the near future.
Does the thought of moving through Skyrim on the back of aerial reptilian fury sound like the embodiment of awesome to you? Feel free to let us know.
