SOE Live 2012 in Las Vegas; New MMO Dragon's Prophet, PlanetSide 2 release date, and Wizardry Online beta
Sony Online Entertainment's annual con, SOE Live, kicked off yesterday at Bally's Casino in Las Vegas, NV. SOE President John Smedley made mention a number of announcements for the brand during his keynote, the highlights of which we've posted below.
For starters, a brand new free-to-play MMO was revealed. Called Dragon's Prophet, the game is being developed by Runewalker Entertainment of Runes of Magic fame.
"Dragon's Prophet features an action-based combat system that gives players more realistic battle action gameplay. Set in a realm where dragons roam the land, sea and air, the game lets players align and battle with a variety of dragons as they work to restore order to the land from the evil Black Dragon that has escaped his eternal prison, unleashed his fire and is more dangerous than ever."

In other MMO news, Wizardry Online is entering beta on October 29. This free-to-play, harcore, fantasy MMORPG features "insane difficulty," "complex mazes," "unrelenting mobs and traps around every corner," and has "the risk of permadeath always looming."
Finally, SOE revealed the release date for PlanetSide 2. "Troops are set to deploy, and Empires will begin battling for control of Auraxis starting on November 20, 2012," in North America and Europe.
