Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still on the way; Rayman titles are slowing its development
Beyond Good & Evil, while it might be a lesser-known title in some circles, was probably one of the best games of last generation. Back in 2008, fans of the original were very excited to hear that Ubisoft was working on a sequel... until the developer fell silent on the matter.
It's been four long years since the announcement, with only tidbits and teasers dropped here and there, and last week, while speaking to Polygon, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot affirmed that the title's still in development.
Developer Michel Ancel is currently working on the title, though it's a slow process, as the sequel isn't the only title Ancel is currently working on.
"What's very important is that Michel Ancel is kind of doing too many things at the same time," said Guillemot. "He was working on Rayman Origins this year. So you know, when he does that, he kind of puts too much of his time on the other projects that he had. The fact is that working on Legends is slowing the process on Beyond Good & Evil 2."
Guillemot was quick to affirm that the developer is definitely still interested in the project - just that they've got way too much on the go. While we've still no word on a release date, at the very least, we know it's coming. Eventually.
