November U.S. game sales down 11%; Black Ops II, Halo 4, and Assassin's Creed III headline
NPD released its November U.S. video game sales numbers, and while they weren't nearly as dismaying as October's stats, the industry's retail sales still fell by some 11% (to $2.55 billion) compared to the same time period a year ago.

As you might expect, games like Call of Duty: Black Ops II (7.5 million units), Halo 4 (3.2 million units), and Assassin's Creed III (2.9 million units) led the sales charge for the month.
While those unit sales figures are impressive for the big boys, Mojang's and 4J Studios' Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is perhaps even more interesting. The little blocks that could have not only found a sturdy foundation on the PC, but, after shifting nearly 4.5 million copies on Xbox 360 (some 40k-60k copies per week since launch), have found solid ground for building on Microsoft's console, as well.
