Sony has sold 30 million PlayStation 3 consoles in Europe and PAL territories
With a catalog of truly worthwhile games, a robust online presence, and powerful hardware, the PlayStation 3 has plenty going for it. And today, it was revealed that all that stuff has led to excellent sales across the Atlantic.
Earlier today, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (or SCEE, if you prefer names with less than 10 syllables) announced that the total sales of the PS3 throughout Europe and the PAL territories have accumulated numbers of over 30 million as of this past Monday, December 17.
As SCEE president Jim Ryan put it, "This is a major milestone for us and clearly shows just how popular the PlayStation brand and products are within Europe and the PAL territories. We are really pleased with the success of the PS3 system over the last six years, and are committed to continuing our support of the platform with high quality products and titles that are of the caliber that PlayStation fans have come to expect."
According to SCEE, the company will continue to seek new ways to expand the PlayStation 3 and "create a world of computer entertainment that is only possible on PlayStation."
