Major Nelson's E3 2013 countdown timer renews next Xbox chatter

Over on Major Nelson's blog, a countdown has begun. A countdown towards the biggest gaming event of the year... E3 2013.

With roughly 158 days, 14 hours, 4 minutes, 59 seconds, and something-or-other milliseconds (it's even counting down the milliseconds) as of this writing, we have a bit of a wait on our hands before the counter hits zero.

Major Nelson's E3 2013 countdown timer renews next Xbox chatter

But why would there be a countdown towards E3? It's pretty apparent that Microsoft is counting down to a big announcement that will be made at the event. But what? Will the company finally unveil the long-rumored successor to the Xbox 360? How about the next iteration of Kinect? Maybe both will be announced at E3. It's not entirely out of the question.

Unless Microsoft goes completely silent on its plans, we'll likely get a better idea of what to expect from it as we approach E3 2013, which will take place from June 11-13.
