Final Fantasy All The Bravest headed to iOS devices tomorrow

A new Final Fantasy game is coming to portables tomorrow. After teasing it for the last few days on its website, Square Enix has lifted the veil off this new title: Final Fantasy All The Bravest, a combat-centered RPG bound for iOS devices tomorrow, priced at $3.99.

According to the New Zealand App Store (where it is already January 17), All The Bravest revolves around continuously fighting enemies in battles based on the series' Active Time Battle system to progress. But this time the battles are crowded, with up to 40 party members fighting at once, all of which are controlled by simple taps or drags. Adding to the frenzy is ‘Fever’, an event that takes place every three hours and lets your party attack without having to fill their ATB gauges

There are up to 20 characters to unlock (by progressing and winning battles) in FFATB, all of which are based of iconic series classes like Black Mage, Knight, and Thief, as well 35 additional ‘Premium’ franchise favorites (such as FFVII’s Cloud) that are available through in-app purchases. Additional stages based on locations from previous FF games are also purchasable.

With 30 franchise songs, leaderboards, and social features, Final Fantasy All The Bravest looks to be loaded with content. It certainly looks like it can be a fun spin on the classic FF action that fans have loved for years. We’ll find out if it’s worthy of standing with its predecessors tomorrow.

And before I end this, answer me this: am I the only one who noticed that “All The Bravest” and “Active Time Battle” have the same acronym?
