On March 19 (what is it with that date today?), fans of Dead or Alive 5 will be able to take the action with them wherever they go with Dead or Alive 5 Plus, a PlayStation Vita port that adds plenty of new features.

In particular, the game will feature the ability to play matches and share save data between the PS Vita and PlayStation 3 versions of DOA 5, as well as well make in-game purchases. Today, Team Ninja talked about these features in greater detail.

Team Ninja details Dead or Alive 5 Plus cross-device functionality between PS3 and PS Vita

According to the developer, players with both versions of DOA 5 will be able to carry content they unlock on one system to the other, meaning fighters and costumes won on the PS3 can be also be accessed on the Vita, and vice versa. The same is true of DLC purchases. Once DOA 5+ is released, players will only have to buy something once in order to have it on both systems.

As for playing with others across systems, Team Ninja promises that cross-platform gameplay will maintain a silky-smooth frame rate of 60fps and that there will be no lag for anyone regardless of which device they are playing on.

Do the new cross-system features make you excited for Dead or Alive 5 Plus? Let us know in the comment box below.
