Ouya's CREATE game jam leads developers to create over 150 games in 10 days
While oozing with potential, the upcoming Ouya console has been lacking in one regard: games. So far there has been next to no talk of what games would be available for the cheap, Android-powered system. Aware of this, Ouya teamed up with Kill Screen to launch a 10-day game jam called “CREATE” to jumpstart game development for the console.

And the turnout was impressive. Developers have created a grand total of 166 games for the event, and now it will be up to a panel of judges–which include Fez creator Phil Fish, Canabalt creator Adam Saltsman, The Guild’s Felicia Day, Journey composer Austin Wintory, Ouya co-creator Ed Fries, and more–to pick the best of the CREATE bunch.
The jam’s finalists will be announced on February 11, and the winners will be named on February 18. A $20,000 prize will go to each of the winners, with an extra $5,000 being awarded for each game that is eventually completed and launched on the Ouya.
